I read about this a few weeks ago and decided to buy Airpods II. You have to have an Iphone with an advanced update 18.1 or so. I have been fighting hearing aids for years now so I figured I could buy them pretending that I needed good ear buds to listen to music and stuff. I did the hearing test and the tests indicated moderate hearing loss in one ear and mild hearing loss in the other. I followed the instructions and let the Airpods update. I've been wearing them now for about 4 hours and I am amazed how much better I am hearing around me. It's somewhat shocking. There is a setting (transparency) that somehow allows the ambient noises around you to get to your ear unemcumbered so wearing them doesn't give you a plugged ear feeling.
This development has come with one realization though.. my lovely wife Oh-Ma is a mumbler... For years she would mumble something or another only to elicit a "i'm sorry?" from me which irriatated her to no end. Now I hear her mumbles quite clearly and while I am sure I missed some quality inputs from her there was a bunch of noise made from her end that no man would/could decipher.
Technology is really beginning to overwhelm my Oh-Pa brain. I just had a client use AI to compose a song for/about me that is incedible. He did it in minutes.. The next 10 years will be incredible as the pace of invention picks up.
