Quick thoughts on the win in Morgantown…

The Red Raiders survived a dogfight against West Virginia, a massive win. A ton of work to be done still.

Pop Isaacs’ return to the lineup was noticeable. He shot quite well and looked to be himself. It seemed to me that they tried to avoid playing him and De’Vion Harmon together at times today. It was good to see Pop back out there and making an impact.

Speaking of Harmon, he had his moments but some of his shot selection wasn’t the best this morning. He still made a big-time impact for the Red Raiders this morning and made some big buckets down the stretch.

Harmon had a really tough to watch final few minutes and he nearly lost this one for Tech, really felt like the Harmon of January.

Jaylon Tyson, however, was the Red Raiders best player today. Seemed like he shot the ball really well and he got a new career high. He was excellent on the defensive end; he shot super efficiently today.

I really think that Tyson’s ceiling is even higher. He is an excellent prospect, and a breakout day today hopefully is just the tip of the iceberg.

There was a moment in this game where the Red Raiders could’ve laid down and died, with 8:30 left in the second half, Tech was down eight.

They didn’t die, they stormed back with the help of some massive rebounds from Robert Jennings. Isaacs, Tyson, and Harmon all had big buckets down the stretch.

Tech couldn’t slow down Erik Stevenson today, he shot the lights out and despite the defensive adjustments in the second half, he was still finding open looks down the stretch.

Fardaws Aimaq really struggled from the field early but got to double-digits with two really key buckets late. Immense impact even when he struggled, an excellent final ten minutes, man was he missed all year.

Obanor was a dud today, seems like teams have done a good job of shutting down the senior of late.

The Red Raiders are now squarely in the tournament conversation, at least the bubble conversation. A massive road win, still work to be done on Wednesday in Norman.
