I am a week late but my wife and I welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world last week. (sorry no pics) It has been a fantastic week with my wife, son, and daughter. Last night we received a phone call from our pediatrician telling us how our daughters initial blood tests showed positive for Cystic Fibrosis. This morning my wife took our daughter back to the pediatrician for an additional, more accurate test. We will find out in a week whether or not the test was a false positive or if it was truly a positive. I have been in bad shape since hearing this news and I am looking for support, prayers, experience with this disease.
My wife and I have zero family history of this genetic disease and false positives are apparently very common. So I am holding out hope at this point, but this uncertainty is absolute torture.
