I’m sad to report that Marching Band Mom passed away last night at age 91. She had dementia complicated by a major stroke last weekend.
Like many women of her generation, she did not attend/complete college so she gladly wore the colors of her husband. Marching Band Dad was a Korean War vet, class of ‘52, and he passed away in 2013 after lurking on this board for several years. (Their second date was a drive from West Texas to Fort Worth for a Tech/TCU football game)
She was a devoted Red Raider fan, so much so that she actually attended games coached by Rex Dockery and Jerry Moore just to watch her son march in The Goin’ Band from Raiderland. And she was plenty upset that her health prevented her from traveling to Minneapolis for the Final Four.
She will be missed, but she is now whole, healthy, and in the warm embrace of her Lord.
