Another Boot Thread, but this I need some help : )

I have a few different pairs of cowboy boots, but none of them go with dress slacks. I wanted to reach out you guys for some advise. I wear dress slacks for work, and would like to find a good looking (and comfortable) pair of boots that look good with both darker and khaki colored slacks.
Anyone have any suggestions, or is it frowned upon to wear cowboy boots with dress slacks?
