First thing this morning, someone asked me about how everything went down and what I thought. Told them my opinions on everything; right decision, even if it's not the fun decision.
The lady who doesn't know anything even remotely related to sports starts off telling me we should've just stuck with Kingsbury "because we can't hire anyone better looking" and then proceeds to tell me that Tech just isn't good at sports and "Nobody wants to play here so we should just be happy that we win any games."
Proceeded to tell her numerous examples of other programs that are is smaller locales, worse facilities, less talent-rich areas, no football tradition that have succeeded in football and she says "I don't think any of that matters. I just think if I was an athlete, I'd like UT way more than Tech and I bet that's what all football players think." She went to LCU so I really shouldn't let it rustle me, but screw it, I've had enough of dumb people.
Good lord I hope Kirby makes the right hire. I don't think I can stand people who belittle Texas Tech Athletics for much longer. Chris Beard, Tadlock, Kitley, Tom Stone have all done it. Ready to show them and the rest of the conference we're not accepting football purgatory.
