Through a bit of negotiation, I was able to convince my employer that, with a good Wi-Fi connection, I can do my job from anywhere. If all goes well, I'll have the official approval to move in probably 2-3 weeks, should I choose to.
I would like to be in either the Americas (Western Hemisphere), or Eastern Asia. I have clients in both locations, so I would prefer to stay in their time zones.
Some of the things I like (in order):
1. experiencing a different culture.
2. food.
3. nice weather.
4. stability (good infrastructure, low violent crime rate, etc.)
Some of the things I hate (in order):
1. commuting (can deal with crowds, but not while in the car).
2. Ridiculously high cost of living.
3. cold temperature for more than 7-8 months of the year.
So RRS, where should I move to?
