In honor of his college football hall of fame acceptance - let's share our favorite memories...
Ok - so I am extremely biased and not trying to be a name dropper but I had the opportunity to play HS football with Zach, known his family for many years and consider his pick 6 against Aggy as the highlight of my college sports watching experience.
In a time before there was a lot of media coverage on recruiting, Zach had a HS football film that would make you drop your jaw. All the way from playing for the state championship at White Deer to turning around a Pampa program that hadn't won a district title in 20 years. He was the wedge-buster on kick offs and blew up so many return guys that they stopped bringing kicks out of the end zone. In one game his Junior year of HS, he was responsible for knocking out 3 QBs in a single game. His instinct was incredible and unlike any I'd ever seen.
I have several other cool memories but just wanted to say thank you to Zach for making us all so proud.
