Unsportsmanlike Violation? I would like to know what Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby’s definition of unsportsmanslike conduct is. It surely does not include sexual harassment, rape or lying. I guess all those lawsuits filed against Baylor for misconduct on the part of Baylor football players does not qualify. What penalty has the Big 12 Conference ever imposed on Baylor for the revelations that came out during the Art Briles tenure? All Kirby Holcut did was report that the conference office informed him that the illegal snap call was in error. He did not publicly criticize the officials. He didn’t criticize anyone. He just reported the truth. He probably suspected he might incur the wrath of the conference office, but he also knew that our fans wanted an explanation. Someone needs to tell Bowlsby that is America where free and open speech is permitted – even when it impacts his precious officials. He is a typical politician. Let’s do everything behind closed doors and tell the public only what we choose for them to hear. We sure as heck don’t want anyone questioning Big 12 officials! Officials are human and make mistakes. I get that. We all do. I have always been taught that when you make a mistake, admit it, apologize and move on. Most reasonable people will accept that. Bowlsby apparently prefers covering up the mistakes his officials make. This is a sad situation.
