A group of avid and like-minded supporters of the Men’s Basketball team are planning to gather in Lubbock July 31st- August 2nd. The group is limited to 40 attendees and there are already 34-35 signed up. Many are familiar to you on this forum- among them @mbeatty @LondonRedRaider @BPDuncan @Wr3ck3m @Malcolm1990 @DCRedRaider02 @raiderroady (my apologies for failing to mention all of them).
Why are we doing this during these troubled times? The Big 12 has vacated all camps for member institutions this year. This has a major impact on discretionary funds raised through these camps for use in supporting the basketball programs. Coach Beard is very vocal in his feelings about the importance of Grad Assistants and Team Managers to handle all of the day to day, mundane tasks that would otherwise fall on his Assistants to get the job done. As such, we have decided to help with some funding through this gathering of the newly named 4:1 CHIP group.
As such, I would like to announce a fund raising effort for 2 others on this Forum to join us. We are going to sell 200 tickets at $75 each. Coach Beard will draw the two winners on July 15th and greet you along with all the other members of this group who have previously donated. You will have 2 nights stay at the Overton Hotel, mucho Texas Tech basketball apparel, catered meals, plenty of adult beverages of your liking, a round of golf on Saturday and ample opportunity to visit with Coach Beard and his Staff. We will not be able to use TTU facilities at this event but I bet your name will be remembered and you can expect special guest access to The Womble at a future date. Looking forward to seeing you at Chimy’s July 31st noontime to start getting your mind right for the weekend.
