I remember watching them win it in 2008, but I was not aware of how average their season was up to the CWS. They were 33-27 in the regular season.

They actually lost two CWS games but still won the Title. It looks like it was just meant to be for them to win it all.
They also lost to San Diego 1-15 in the Regional, but came back to win the Regional.
