Which Tech football games are you attending this season?

It’s almost that time.

I will be in Lubbock for Arizona State on 9/21 and Colorado on 11/9.

I also got tickets for @ TCU on 10/26 and @ Oklahoma State on 11/23.

11/30 vs WVU is a possibility too, especially if there’s anything significant to play for. Just tough making out of town trips two weeks in a row.

Does your wife use Botox?

Do you or your spouse use Botox?

I was talking with my wife this evening about people we know who use Botox and we realized that she’s one of maybe a handful of the people we know (family, friends, acquaintances) who have not ever used it. She has aged well and I don’t think at 40 she needs it or would benefit much from it, obviously some people are quite the opposite and many probably don’t need it but do it anyway. I haven’t ever given it much thought until this evening and now I’m wondering if it’s like this everywhere or if it’s somehow just the people we know.

What says RRS, which is obviously the perfect representation of the general public.

Sad news -- no more Skip Bayless

Alas, Skip Bayless and Fox Sports are parting ways sometime this summer. Ratings for "Undisputed" are in the tank. One show in February drew just 50,000 viewers nationally and was outdrawn by a first-round tennis match of the Dubai Open.

I haven't watched five minutes of that show in two years. I'm not counting when it's on one of the TVs at the fitness gym. And put that other "embrace debate" crap, "First Take" with egomaniac Stephen A. Smith in there as well. If anyone watches those shows with any regularity, they should ask some tough questions of how their life spiraled down so much and what they can do to become a contributing member of society.

Tech Hall of Fame - Mookie Mitchell

Had not seen this mentioned along with Amendola and Carr.

Derrell "Mookie" Mitchell – Heritage Award Recipient

Mitchell will be recognized with the prestigious Heritage Award in recognition of his success since departing Texas Tech as an inductee into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Mitchell, who starred at wide receiver for the Red Raiders from 1992-93, was a member of the CFL Hall of Fame class of 2016 following a stellar 11-year career with the Toronto Argonauts (1997-03; 2007) and Edmonton Eskimos (2004-06). At the time of his induction, Mitchell ranked ninth on the all-time CFL receiving list with 12,014 yards through the air over his career. Mitchell was the CFL Rookie of the Year in 1997 after catching 77 passes for 1,457 yards and 17 touchdowns, all while leading Toronto to the Grey Cup. He made 160 catches for 2,000 yards year later, marking only the third time in league history a receiver had reached the 2,000-yard mark. Mitchell, who set a CFL single-season record with 160 receptions in 1998, was a three-time CFL All-Star and a five-time CFL East All-Star. He was a two-time Grey Cup champion as he helped lead not only Toronto to a title but also Edmonton to one of its own in 2005.
