This place is beyond belief.

I think for all of us it's easy, fun, super cool, and awesome to cheer for Patrick Mahomes.

But, let's say for example, for the Cowboy fans - what if an Aggie LB becomes a super stud for the Cowboys? Does that matter to you?

Thinking about this because Xavier Worthy now a Chief and Rolf Don't Care. I hope Mahomes hits him for 2000 yards and 25 TDs, whatever it takes to win another Super Bowl.

Interesting convo with the special teams coordinator this afternoon. Here's the transcript.

How do you feel about the kicking competition heading into week 1?
"I mean, that's still an option. We got this week of practice. It's pretty remarkable, like I said. Just goes back to that same year we talked about. They're both right around 82% I mean, almost identical through all this whole camp. So, you know, there's times where I thought one of the guys was already taking the lead, and the other one came back and which is a good problem to have. Gino's kicked a lot of footballs in college football. Reese hasn't, but Reese has kind of shown how he's improved over the last year, and we know what he can do for kickoff. And you know what our guys on this team love, Reese."

What do the "Dead Rabbits" mean to this team?
"I think you guys know that our walk ons here are a big thing for me, because that's kind of the, kind of the lifeblood of Texas Tech, I think. They've always had those kind of guys that come out of nowhere and play hard, and they represent West Texas. It's something that I take a lot of pride in with our guys, you know, because those kids don't get a lot of credit, you know, they're out there practicing every day, they're giving us a look. And then, you know, I'm pretty hard on those guys to do stuff on special teams for us."

Has anyone stood out in the return game as a blocker?
"You got to win up front to get returns. You know, Justin Horne's been one that's really stuck out, you know, as a young kid. Caleb Douglas has done well. I mean, I think he knows that for him to play at the next level, he's got to be a Swiss army knife. He's one that's done well. Coy (Eakin) coy is a tough kid. And I love that. I love tough guys, to be honest with you and Coy is one of those kids. Those are, you know, some of the guys, Cam Valdez has done some stuff as well. Then you've got Drew Hocutt, Joe Plunk, guys you can count on no matter what."

What about jammer / gunner?
"You know, usually the that's the hardest place to play. So gunners are big, you know, those guys out there. They're fast guys. So usually I try to use our defensive backs, and I tell you what, (Bralyn) Lux, AJ McCarty, Mo Horn, Macho Stevenson, those guys are just a few. That same thing. When you flip around on punt return. It's usually your corners, because that's the that's the hardest part to play out there, because, you know, guys are so fast coming down, and you got to be able to hold them up. So you just can't throw guys out there that never did that. Drae McRay will be another one. I'll use his gunner. He did some last year. Did a great job. He actually, you know, if he's not returning on punt return, he'll probably play some corner."

Where are you at in the return game?

"Kickoff return, that's Drae McCray's deal. You know, he's special on a strong he knows what we're doing. Punt return, Josh Kelly's done great. Jordan Brown's done great. Micah Hudson, you know, could get some of those. There's three or four guys, and it's going to, obviously, punt returns, kind of, you know, it's, there's some stuff that comes into that, obviously, field position, play making, you know, where we're at, are we going? Are we coming after it? You know? So biggest thing is we got to possess the ball. So whatever that situation deals us at that time is who we're going to see back there."

LUBBOCK, Texas – The new South End Zone Building will not be the only new aspect to Jones AT&T Stadium this season as Texas Tech will introduce several new gameday enhancements when the Red Raiders open the 2024 campaign with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff Saturday evening against Abilene Christian.

Below is a listing of enhancements fans can expect this season at Jones AT&T Stadium.

“TAP AND GO” MOBILE TICKET SYSTEM TO SPEED UP STADIUM ENTRY | DIGITAL TICKETING INFO
Texas Tech will introduce a new “tap and go” mobile ticketing system this season to assist fans with quicker entry each gameday. All football tickets, including premium areas, will remain 100 percent mobile only but will not utilize a QR code for scanning moving forward. Instead, fans will place their downloaded mobile ticket near ticket scanners that will identify each mobile ticket wirelessly. Fans with multiple tickets will need to swipe horizontally to each ticket and tap it near the scanner for entry.

Most importantly, Texas Tech will no longer accept screenshots of mobile tickets in order to further protect ticket holders from scams or counterfeit purchases. Fans needing to transfer their tickets can do so online via their TexasTech.com account or by utilizing the official Texas Tech mobile app. Step-by-step instructions can be found here via TexasTech+.

SINGLE-GAME TICKETS REMAIN ON SALE FOR ALL SEVEN HOME GAMES
Fans still have time to lock in their seats for all seven Saturdays inside Jones AT&T Stadium this season as single-game tickets are still on sale through the Athletic Ticket Office. Tickets can be purchased online at TexasTech.com or by speaking to a ticket sales representative at 806-742-TECH. Texas Tech announced Monday less than 500 tickets still remain for this Saturday’s game against ACU.

TEXAS TECH ADDS THREE NEW GATES FOR STADIUM ENTRY
Texas Tech has added three new entry gates to Jones AT&T Stadium this season, which are located in the new South End Zone Building. Gates 8 and 10 will serve all fans on either the west or east sides of the stadium, while fans with premium seating in the South End Zone Building will be able to enter through Gate 9. The new South End Zone Building features an expanded concourse, allowing fans easy 360 access to the stadium concourse.

SIXTH STREET TO REOPEN FOR PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC
Texas Tech will reopen Sixth Street between the South End Zone Building and the Sports Performance Center to pedestrian traffic in the coming days ahead of Saturday’s season opener versus Abilene Christian. The area was previously closed due to construction on the South End Zone Building and the Dustin R. Womble Football Center project. Access to areas near the Womble Football Center will be restricted to pedestrians until the project is completed later this fall.

TEXAS TECH TO OPEN SOUTH END ZONE WITH DRONE SHOW
Texas Tech will celebrate the official opening of the South End Zone Building to Jones AT&T Stadium with a drone show prior to the fourth quarter of the Abilene Christian game. Texas Tech Athletics previously hosted the university’s first-ever drone show last November, exciting fans late in the Red Raiders’ victory over TCU.

RAIDER WALK RETURNS TO 2022 ROUTE
Raider Walk will return to its original route this season as the Red Raiders will be dropped each gameday immediately south of the Sports Performance Center. Fans are encouraged to line the streets beginning roughly two hours and 15 minutes prior to kickoff as head coach Joey McGuire and the Red Raiders will walk north down Drive of Champions Avenue to their gameday locker room in the new South End Zone Building.

BIG CHICKEN AMONG NEW CONCESSION OPTIONS
Texas Tech will expand its concessions options this season with the addition of Big Chicken as well as two new grab-and-go marketplaces. Big Chicken, the chain founded by Shaquille O’Neal, will be located on the southeast side of the new south end zone concourse, while Touchdown Tavern will serve hot food options further west for premium ticket holders only. Touchdown Tavern will also contain a grab-and-go marketplace, one of two new self-serve locations for Jones AT&T Stadium this season. In addition to Touchdown Tavern, Texas Tech has constructed a new marketplace on the mezzanine level dubbed Matador Marketplace on the west side of the stadium, giving fans four quick grab-and-go options between its original location near Gate 1 and the “Take Three” marketplace near Gate 4 in the northeast corner of the stadium.

TEXAS TECH PARNERS WITH STADIUMDROP FOR SIMPLIER CONCESSION DELIVERY
Fans can skip the concession lines this season by utilizing StadiumDrop for in-seat delivery of various food and alcoholic options. StadiumDrop is a peer-to-peer, in-seat food and beverage order and delivery application that allows fans the ease of ordering stadium concessions through the Texas Tech mobile app. StadiumDrop, which resembles many home food delivery apps, will have staff at each home game to assist with in-seat delivery.

NEW SEATING LOCATION ANNOUNCED FOR GOIN’ BAND FROM RAIDERLAND
Texas Tech will relocate the Goin’ Band from Raiderland this season from its previous location in the southeast corner of Jones AT&T Stadium to section 15, surrounding the new visiting team tunnel in the northeast corner of the stadium. The move will open section 23 for Texas Tech’s student body, which will continue to occupy the majority of the lower bowl of the east side of the stadium similar to previous seasons.

RED RAIDER LIGHTS AVAILABLE ON TEXAS TECH MOBILE APP
Fans can join the pregame festivities inside Jones AT&T Stadium through the Red Raider Lights tab on the Texas Tech mobile app. Texas Tech has designed several fan-driven light shows for smart phones that will be utilized prior to the Red Raiders’ entrance into Jones AT&T Stadium as well as right before kickoff and in between the third and fourth quarters. In advance of each game, fans will need to grant the app permission to use the microphone as the light show is triggered by in-stadium audio.

JOIN THE PARTY PREGAME AT RAIDER ALLEY PRESENTED BY BUD LIGHT
There isn't a better spot on gameday than Raider Alley presented by Bud Light. Raider Alley opens four hours prior to kickoff each Saturday, featuring plenty of entertainment for fans of all ages in the heart of the Texas Tech campus. Raider Alley will be headlined each week by a pregame musical act beginning two hours prior to kickoff each week. The Raider Alley Concert Series is once again sponsored by Davis Smith Law Firm and will feature exciting acts roughly two hours prior to kickoff each week during the season. Texas Tech will kick off the Concert Series with Grammy nominated artist Natisha Bedingfield.

JONES AT&T STADIUM REMAINS FULLY CASHLESS
Jones AT&T Stadium is a fully cashless venue at all points of sale, including with the Texas Tech Ticket Office, all concession stands and with Red Raider Outfitter, the gameday retailer of Texas Tech Athletics. All points of sale will accept credit and debit cards as well as contactless payment methods.

CITIBUS TO OPERATE SHUTTLE SERVICE FOR FANS
Citibus will provide roundtrip shuttle service beginning three hours prior to kickoff until one hour after the conclusion of the game at only $6 per person. Pick-up is located north of the John Walker Soccer Complex (Texas Tech Parkway & 10th Street) and northwest of Health Sciences Center (ADA Only, Texas Tech Parkway & 5th Street). Citibus will also provide fans shuttle service from the gameday parking lots to Raider Alley this season as part of its gameday transportation. The drop-off location on the north end of the Engineering Key is in addition to the normal Citibus gameday route. Citibus will only accept payment through the "Go Pass" app. Signage and QR codes will be available near each pickup location on gameday.

CLEAR BAG POLICY REMAINS IN PLACE AT ALL ATHLETIC VENUES
Texas Tech's clear bag policy will remain in effect for all athletic venues during the 2024-25 athletic year. Fans will be able to bring the following style and size bag or package into the venue:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12."
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
- Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the venue with one of the clear plastic bags.
- An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.
- Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will be permitted into Jones AT&T Stadium.

Fans will once again be allowed to bring an unopened 20 ounce (or less) bottle of water into any outdoor athletics venue on campus this year. Please note that frozen water will not be allowed through the stadium gates. Opened bottles other than 20 ounce (or less) bottles will not be permitted. Empty drink containers are allowed into Jones AT&T Stadium and all athletic venues.

Guests carrying medically necessary bags or equipment into a venue will be required to have their bag inspected and tagged by security. For questions about medical equipment or other needs, please contact the Athletics Operations office at 806-834-7111.

TEXAS TECH RE-ENTRY POLICY
Re-entry into Jones AT&T Stadium will not be permitted throughout the 2024 season. Fans must have a new ticket for admission back into the stadium.

I find these weekly publications during the football season helpful.

Has anyone dealt with any shipping issues lately? I have an order I placed on Sept. 10th and I still haven't received it. Emailed about it, and have called multiple times this week with no one answering the phone. Have never had issues before with them, so I'm wondering what's up?
