My first year at Tech was Leach’s first year.
I’ve been through some pretty good highs and some pretty rough lows. But the one thing that strikes me about McGuire era is that we actually have a plan to build a program and getting the offense figured out is just one piece to it. Maybe it’s with Kittley, maybe not. But the person calling plays, for once, is just a cog in the wheel.
Under Leach and Kliff, the plan was to run an explosive offense and just wing it with everything else. I’m not really sure if Wells had a plan and I think Tuberville was trying to keep getting them checks and maybe be the anti-Leach.
But for once, I feel like we have a plan and it may be ugly getting there, but we’re finally in it with the big picture in mind. It’s painful right now, but we’re building it right and going to come out the other side of it.
