It was weird to think that last night was the last Tech basketball game of the season. For all of their highs and lows, this team improved competitively from the beginning of conference play to the end. And for me, they became one of my favorite Red Raider basketball teams. Despite gaps in talent, they always played hard, always hustled, and always seemed to have a good attitude. That young core is going to be fun to watch the next three years. It's too bad Justin Gray wasn't able to grow with these guys, but he'll just add another dimension next year.

We have two big bodies who will contribute on both ends of the floor. We'll have two rangy, athletic forwards who take pride in defense and provide length and quickness on offense. We have a gritty veteran guard who makes tough plays, hits clutch shots and puts the team on his back. We have another veteran guard who can fill the basket up when he realizes that he has the green light and has the confidence to do so. And we have a young point guard who sees the floor well, who can shoot if necessary, and can take the ball to the rim and finish. Add a couple of dynamic pieces, and this team can contend in the Big 12!
