I’ve been thinking about this for awhile. I’m all about games being played on campus. The one exception is thanksgiving weekend in Lubbock has always been a challenge with attendance.
We will now have a presents playing games in Houston and DFW every other year.
I propose we play BU or OSU every year in San Antonio the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We will gain more by this game being played in the SA/Austin market than in Lubbock every other year on thanksgiving. Won’t hurt recruiting if we’re not in Stillwater or Waco. Could also help build a rivalry and give us an annual presents in this big recruiting market that’s under served. This gives us a foot hold in DFW, Houston, and SA/Austin. Also road trips to SA during thanksgiving break would be fun.
