Texas Tech has landed Arizona State transfer C Solen Munson, per source.
Munson enrolled at ASU and washed out in the fall but was a big time recruit out of Iowa this recruiting cycle. He was the No. 1 catcher in the state and No. 6 player in Iowa. Carried a near-sub 2 pop time in HS, no idea where now.
He is the son of former big leaguer Eric Munson, who played against Texas Tech in 1999.
I am unsure if Munson will compete with the team in the spring but he is on campus and is starting classes tomorrow. If he does compete with the team, Tech would have to release someone from their roster, as Tech sits at 40.
EDIT: Munson will be ineligible for the 2024 season, as was Kevin Bazzell when he transferred in from DBU at semester in 2021-22.
