His extension is going to be interesting. I saw an article the other day that compares his first three years to Jimbo’s and they’re pretty comparable with Jimbo getting the edge in most categories. Like any coach around, he’s going to leverage the hell out of this season for a big extension and raise. I’m guessing UT won’t have much choice but to pay it, although there’s not a ton of blue blood jobs out there at the moment.
This was easily his most successful season as a HC. He seems to have learned some things through Saban school and sobriety (good for him) but not sure I’d be comfortable handing him a $100MM contract, which I presume he’ll get close to.
