Hey guys, just got off the phone with Mississippi Gulf Coast safety Vaughnte Dorsey who was on his official visit this weekend. It turns out though, that he actually committed today as well.

Brief notes:

-December graduate

-Two years of eligibility

-While the visit seemed "random" and Dorsey seemed like a last-minute prayer, he has actually been talking with Tech for about two months now. The offensive coordinator at Gulf Coast coached with Karl Scott, and he tipped off coach Scott to Dorsey. I Scott trusts his coaching contacts, so I'd take it as a good sign that Dorsey was recommended to coach Scott and Scott bought in.

-Had a lot of late interest from TCU, Arizona State (they offered), Southern Miss, Arkansas State, and others.

-The coaches kept preaching to him that they wanted to make a "change" on defense and felt like he was the guy who could bring about that change. They are all for what Dorsey can bring to the table.

-They view him as a guy who can play cornerback, nickelback, and safety. Obviously, there is a lot to like about his versatility. He is about 5-10 1/2, 205 pounds.
