Mitchel's Stock Soaring

The
stock of Mansfield (Texas) Legacy cornerback
Tevin Mitchel
has soared in recent weeks as he has received numerous offers
with more on the way.

"Virginia, Wake Forest if you didn't already know about that, Texas A&M, Texas
Tech is going to offer and I just got an offer from OU today," Mitchel said. "So
those are all the recent offers I have got."

The 6-foot, 175-pound prospect has also attracted the attention of another Big
12 school, though it is unclear at this point whether they will offer.

"Texas has shown more interest in me, so I would hope for an offer to be given
to me in a little bit," Mitchel said.

The Red Raiders are just now entering the picture for Mitchel, who admits he
doesn't know too much about the program.

"I'm not sure who is recruiting me from Texas Tech because I don't know his
name, but I do know he has come and watched me practice," Mitchel said. "I
didn't get a chance to talk to him, so I just know that there was someone from
Texas Tech at my practice."

Though Mitchel hasn't heard from Texas Tech too much, he is still very
interested in getting to know more about them.

"I would say my interest level with Texas Tech is pretty high, but there are
other schools in between," Mitchel said. "Right now it would probably be
Oklahoma ,
Arkansas , Nebraska
and Iowa State that are standing out right now for
me."

Mitchel, who has family connections to Arkansas and Oklahoma, will be very busy
this summer visiting as many schools as he can.

"I am going to try and go to as many camps as I can this summer to most of the
schools that have offered me and checking out their campuses," Mitchel said.

Mitchel holds offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Nebraska,
Oklahoma, Purdue, Texas A&M, Tulsa, Wake Forest and Washington State. He plans
to reach a decision before the end of the summer.

Wilson Still Liking The Raiders

Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson linebacker

Ramik Wilson
is another prospect from the Sunshine State that has caught the
attention of Texas Tech and it looks as though the feeling is mutual with Wilson
holding the Red Raiders in high esteem. A few weeks ago, Wilson listed Tech as
his "front runner," but there is still a lengthy list of potential suitors
hoping to persuade him otherwise.

"I'd have to say Western Kentucky, Iowa State and Purdue have been after me the
hardest lately," he said. "I'm also waiting on UAB to offer me. They were at my
practice today. I'm still in contact with Tech for sure, but I'm still open at
this point."

Texas Tech had previously been the only school from the Lone Star State to make
an offer to the 6-foot-4, 228-pounder, but Wilson's plans indicate more could be
on the way.

"I'm thinking about going to visit Texas A&M in the next few months," he said.
"While I'm there I'll probably want to go see Tech and Baylor, too. Those guys
(Baylor, Texas A&M) have just started talking to me this week."

Wilson has remained in contact with Texas Tech running backs coach Chad Scott,
as well as defensive coordinator James Willis.

"He's a cool guy, really intense," he said of Willis. "He wants a guy that's
going to come in and work hard to make an impact on his defense. He definitely
has a plan in the works and he wants guys that are going to help him execute
it."

Purdue, Rutgers and Texas Tech make up Wilson's current top three; he also holds
offers from East Carolina, Illinois, Iowa State, Memphis, Minnesota, Purdue,
USF, UCF and Western Kentucky.

Dismuke Comfortable With Raiders

Duncan (Okla.) offensive lineman

Dylan Dismuke
remains in contact with Texas Tech, one of his top three
schools along with Arkansas and Nebraska.

"They really just talk to me about everything," he said. "I talk with them once
a week and they are just checking up with me and how everything is going, but
half the time I talk to them it's not even about football. They do ask me all
the time when I'm going to commit because they told me I am one of the top
players they are recruiting."

Dismuke, a Rivals250 to Watch prospect, hopes to have a decision made before the
beginning of his senior season.

Lang Staying In Florida?

MAXLANE10AC200.JPG
With
the spring evaluation period ongoing, recruiting is an every day thing for
Orlando (Fla.) Boone offensive lineman
Max Lang
.

"It's spring so there are a lot of scouts," Lang said, "Literally every day,
watching not just me, but a couple other players, too. It's been kind of hectic,
but it's slowed down a lot, by that I mean it's gotten more normal for me. It's
getting easier to handle."

The in-state schools recruiting the 6-foot-4, 276-pound product have gained
Lang's interest thus far, but he said he really has not had a chance to take
many visits. He hopes to change that this summer.

"Mostly the schools in Florida -- FSU and USF -- just because of the location,"
Lang said, "but then again, I haven't really visited any schools besides South
Florida, FSU and UCF. So, I can't really say that's a fair thing, I was planning
on doing a lot of this over the summer."

Lang hasn't decided which schools he will visit this summer. He said he wants to
see what schools are really interested in him and what traveling he will be able
to do with his schedule.

"I haven't planned any yet," Lang said. "I'm just going to play it by ear and
see who wants me to come the most. It's a lot of traveling, and I'm trying to
make up a lot of school work from when I screwed around a little bit my freshman
year, when I had no clue what was going on, and make up some C's. I'm going to
be really busy this summer, so I'm going to play it by ear."

The schools in Florida have gotten Lang's attention for numerous reasons. One of
those was that he wants to stay close to his family.

"It's pretty important," Lang said. "With the talent pool that there is in
Florida, I wouldn't see the need to leave unless a school grabs my attention and
really makes me want to go there, like a lot. Most importantly my family can
come over and see me play. The furthest I think I would be able to go would be
FSU or Miami, but Miami hasn't talked to me yet. It's pretty important; I want
to be close to my family and if I have that option I figure why not?"

One of the programs that has attracted some of Lang's attention out of state is
Texas Tech. Lang said he is being recruited by running backs coach Chad Scott.

"They are all pretty awesome guys," Lang said, "all the scouts and stuff, that's
what they are supposed to be. I know they are going to be jerks on the field,
maybe not jerks but completely different. But you can just tell he (Scott) is a
really good guy, a really nice guy. My mom's from there, Big Spring, which is
right next to Lubbock which is a big thing and that's been catching my eye, too.
He's just an awesome guy, he's fun to talk to, energetic and he's just been
calling me more than other college which means a lot to me."

Lang said he does not know much about the Red Raiders' football program, but he
would not be opposed to visiting Tech if given the opportunity.

"I think I would, it just depends on a lot of things," Lang said. "Like I said,
I want to play it by ear, I'm not going to say I'm going to visit them and not
be able to, I wouldn't mind it though and I have close family around there, too
which I wouldn't mind dropping on by, so it would be a win-win deal."

Ground To Make Up With Fulse

Fort Meade (Fla.) tight end

Brandon Fulse
has been picking up offers from programs from coast to coast.
From Miami to Stanford, Fulse said he has about 20 programs that he is looking
at right now.

"Florida," as Fulse started his list, "Florida State, Miami, USF, UCF, Auburn,
Alabama, Michigan, Texas Tech, South Carolina, Clemson, FIU, FAU, Oregon,
Marshall, Rutgers, Louisville, Stanford, Duke, Maryland, Georgia and I think
that's all right now."

"There's just a few that I can stay are standing out right now," Fulse said.
"Florida State, Miami, Auburn, Alabama, just a few."

The 6-foot-4, 247-pounder said he plans to cut that list down some after spring,
take some summer visits and then trim his list down to 10. He has not taken any
major visits, so his list could change depending on where he goes this summer.

"I'm going to try to get Florida State, Alabama, Auburn and, if it works out,
I'm going to try to go to Oregon, Michigan," Fulse said. "I'm just going to try
to get to whoever makes the list of 15 after the spring, I'm going to try to get
to those."

Fulse said he has been in pretty regular contact with Texas Tech. He said
running backs coach Chad Scott talks with him once a week and offensive
coordinator Neal Brown even visited his high school earlier this month.

"He's a pretty cool guy," Fulse said of Scott. "He's from Florida, right down
the road from us, about an hour away. He's just a cool guy, respectful, and if
it works out I would love to play for him."

He said they talk about football, but Fulse and Scott have a real good
relationship and they talk about a lot of different things.

"I'm just trying to build a relationship with him," Fulse said of Scott. "We
talk about how he wants me to come up there and see the campus. He said if I
come up there I will really like it. So, just about coming up there for an
official or unofficial this summer, and how they haven't signed a tight end in
like 10 years, and I would fit perfectly in their system."

The one thing that came to mind to Fulse when asked about Tech, was, "Passing
team." He said he likes the fact that Tech spreads the ball around through the
air, but he can do whatever his team will need him to do.

"Passing is what tight ends want," Fulse said, "but I'm both, I'll block, too so
it really doesn't matter."
