Buried my 88 year old grandad yesterday morning. He was a hell of a man and built an awesome family. I’ll miss him dearly. We were close and I would visit him every time I was back in Angelo.
This was my son and I with my grandad about a month ago.
My brother put his border collie down Tuesday that I helped raise and he got when we were at Tech together. He was 14.5. Helped him bury him at the ranch Wednesday afternoon with some of our other family/ranch dogs
We knew this past weekend my wife’s almost 17 year old yorkie was ready to cross the rainbow bridge and we made plans to put him down this week but with my grandads passing we had to pivot. I’d been around him almost 13 years of his life and Dirk was a little shit at times but he was a damn good dog. We took him to a family friend veterinarian yesterday in christoval and he crossed the rainbow bridge around 5:30. We have to drive back to Houston today so we couldn’t wait much longer. Ol boy was ready and he went peacefully. All 5.5 pounds of him.
Didnt think I could cry this much in one day.
