Sounds like lots of folks are dealing with delays for passport processing. Wondering if anyone knows any workarounds to get one sooner.
My wife submitted an application for a passport renewal 16 weeks ago and still hasn't gotten hers yet. For context, I submitted my renewal at the same time and got mine back in 6 weeks. We're going out of the country next month so what started as an inconvenience has become quite the stress point.
We've tried calling the help hotline, they were no help. Apparently you need to make an appointment with the passport office, which you can only do if you're within 5 days of your travel date, or if you're in a life-or-death situation.
Such a beating. Any help or commiserating would be appreciated.
