To me...He's still the GREATEST!
Listened to the fight over a radio broadcast, laying on my belly on a hardwood floor at my Aunt & Uncles home on Iron Street in Salina, Ks at 8 yrs. old. If you've never listened to a fight over the radio you've never experienced one of the greatest visual events in sports.
On February 25, 1964, Muhammad Ali (then known as Cassius Clay) defeated Sonny Liston in a boxing match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The 22-year-old Clay was an 8:1 underdog, but won in a major upset when Liston gave up at the start of the seventh round.
