I think the picture is starting to clear up a bit as interviews have been conducted and the candidate field narrows down.
Starting with bad news, per a Florida State contact, it's looking like current FSU TE's coach Chris Thomsen is going to stay in Tallahassee. I believe Thomsen was a legitimate target and had interest in this position, but he just signed a new extension in December and the finances unfortunately didn't work out here.
I believe Washington State offensive line coach Clay McGuire is still heavily in the mix. I don't know if he's the top candidate on the board or the favorite, but he's a very strong candidate at the very least.
I cannot rule out former Kentucky OL coach Zach Yenser though there isn't as much smoke with Yenser as there was a week ago.
In addition, I believe there are other possibilities, including potential candidates with NFL backgrounds on the board.
The first spring football practice is in 34 days from today.
