Sorry for the late post here, but here's some numbers about this evening's opponent.

-KenPom: Overall: 9; Offense: 14; Defense: 10.

This is an uber-efficient team from just about every perspective. They are an excellent shooting team and are able to guard the ball very well. They're the No. 38 team in 3P% for and No. 3 team in 3P% against. They take 51 percent of their field goals from beyond the arc, the third highest clip in the country, only trailing North Florida and Chattanooga. That's a dangerous number, Tech must guard the perimeter better today, and as the worst team in the Big 12 in allowing threes, this could get ugly.

They turn the ball over at an above average rate, just about 15.2% of possessions, 2% under the national average.

They rebound the ball extremely well on both sides of the court, long shots = long boards and all that.

BYU doesn't get to the line very well, as should be expected with their style of offense, and with Tech's ability to guard the ball without fouling, I'd be shocked if BYU was at the line much, if at all, tonight.

The Cougars are excellent distributors, the third highest rate of assists to made field goals in the nation at 67.0%, trailing only Kansas (69.9) and Minnesota (67.5). It feels like Tech shares the ball well and they're only at 56.0%, good for 67th in the country.

It starts with Aly Khalifa (50), the 6-11 center, who carries a 31.1% assist rate, the 58th best of all players in the country. Spencer Johnson (20) and Dallin Hall (30) are also excellent distributors, carrying rates above 25%.

Jaxson Robinson (2) is another big time threat, one of the many on this team that are uber-dangerous from beyond the arc. He's joined by Hall, Noah Waterman (0) and Trevin Knell (21) in that department.

BYU carries some impressive length, and frankly, they are much longer than you, but they aren't as athletic as Houston was the other night. The length helps them on defense and it's evident with two 6-11 starters in the front court in Waterman and Khalifa. Hall stands at 6-4, Trevin Knell is 6-5 while Robinson is a 6-7 combo guard. Very, very tough matchup that Tech is going to have to shoot through. This team is just extremely well rounded.
