I’m curious as to why the two schools don’t combined into a single university. Would combining the two schools improve our standing with accreditations and potentially move us closer to the coveted AAU designation? I’m sure there are nuances and probably financial reasons to keep them separate, but I would imagine having the two together would increase the research activity and improve the doctoral degrees TTU is providing. I believe A&M did this with its Health Science Center back in 2013. Also, I believe Nebraska is looking to do the same in merging schools to earn its AAU accreditation back. Just some thoughts.
