I understand much of the reason is our own dumpster fire but even so...the deck is stacked against us.
I believe the last first time champion was Florida in the 90s. It is always the same 5 to 8 teams in contention . This was painfully obvious a couple years ago when tcu is 3rd. Win their last game by 50 and still get moved out of the playoff. No way that happens if it is Texas or OU.
Baseball schools like Tech, TCU, Rice or Stony Brook have a shot. Basketball sees a Butler in championship game 2 years in a row or an Indiana State can be there.
