With baseball, the numbers are so much fun to follow. They don't always tell the whole story, but...
With 2 more strikeouts yesterday, Josh Jung is up to 133 for the season, in 106 games, for an average of 1.26 strikeouts per game. Not great. When he does hit it, the ball goes a long damn way, but obviously needs to improve on working the count and making contact.
By comparison, Joey Gallo holds the season record for the Rangers at 207 k's in 148 games, or 1.39 strikeouts per game.
EDIT And to satisfy my curiosity, I looked back to the 1986 Rangers and the "Fat Kid" Pete Incaviglia (Bobby Valentine's words), who hit 30 home runs but struck out 185 times in 153 games for 1.21 average per game.
Slow day at work and just crunching a few numbers.
