Some of you may remember Mac Engel (Fort Worth Star Telegram) reported that TCU and Houston were the top candidates for PAC expansion due to their locations in big media markets. Most of us (myself included) dismissed this as TCU homerism. However, in John Kurtz's most recent live stream, Kurtz summarizes an offline conversation he had with Jon Wilner (San Jose Mercury News). Kurtz said Wilner made two points that I think folks here would find interesting:
1. The PAC was not close to expanding.
2. The PAC does/did favor TCU and Houston due to media market size.
Skip to 27:00 to listen to Kurtz talk about it. I hope the PAC leadership really isn't dumb enough to pull the trigger on TCU over Tech next time they consider expansion.
