With Conference play looming I wanted to take a look at the various lineups Tech has used and the stats associated with them as well as some individual player stats.

Tech Basketball lineups:
  • Tech's most used lineup is also one of it's most efficient (6th best and the others are low sample sizes). Consisting of Joe Toussaint, Chance McMillian, Pop Isaacs, Darrion Williams and Warren Washington. It has a +/- of 32, Net Rating of 31.8 (80th percentile) , offensive rating of 124.3 (89th percentile) and a defensive rating of 92.5 (72nd percentile).
  • The next two most used lineups are the old and new starting 5's with and without Cambridge. The lineup with Cambridge had a +/- of 16, Net rating of 17.7 (65th percentile) , O rating of 114 (60th percentile), and a D rating of 96.3 (64th percentile)). When replaced with Kerwin Walton Tech has a +/- of 23, Net rating of 26 (74th percentile), offensive rating of 119.8 (70th percentile), and a defensive rating of 93.8 (69th percentil).
  • A couple of other interesting nuggets are that with Kerwin in the lineup instead of Cambridge Tech has an eFG% of 57% (up from 50%) and the ORB% goes down to 28.9% from 33.3% that it had with Devin in the lineup.
  • Even though it is a small sample size the lineup with the best offensive rating is comprised of Chance McMillian, Pop, Lamar Washington, Kerwin Walton and Warren Washington.
  • The lineup with the best defensive net rating includes Joe Toussaint, Pop Isaacs, Kerwin Walton, Devin Cambridge and Warren Washington. The best defensive lineup w/o Cambridge is Joe Toussaint, Chance McMillian, Pop Isaacs, Darrion Williams and Warren Washington.

Assorted stats:

  • The players with the highest on/off net ratings are 1) Joe Toussaint 2) Warren Washington 3) Pop Isaacs 4)Darrion Williams
  • The lowest on/off ratings belong to 1)EY 2) Lamar Washington 3)RJ
  • Kerwin Walton has the highest offensive on/off rating while EY has the lowest
  • Joe Toussaint has the highest defensive on/off rating and EY has the lowest (with Kerwin second to last)
  • 49.2% of Pop's shots come from above the break 3's
  • 27% of Joe Toussaint's shots come at the rim where he finishes at a 70% clip
  • 67% of Chance McMillians shots come from beyond the arc
  • Pops eFG% for the season is 43.2% (30th percentile) but in the last 5 games it is 49.4% (57th percentile)
  • 80% of RJ's shots come at the rim where he is finishing at a 55% clip (22nd percentile)
  • RJ has a offensive rebounding percentage of 19.4 (99th percentile)
  • 45.5% if Techs 2P makes are assisted (86th percentile) with 55% of makes at the rim coming off assists (94th percentile)
  • Looking at various stats, Tech has a super low foul rate
