It’s a win, an ugly one, but a win. Had to have it and you do.
Some thoughts…
-What a night from Kerwin, just excellent work from him offensively. Thought he was solid defensively too, nothing really jumped off the page.
-Darrion Williams had a nice night, felt like he was all over the place defensively and made a significant impact on the offensive end from inside the paint. A double-double was a really nice contribution.
-Warren Washington had a nice night, his presence was felt for sure. He threw a couple passes away early but I didn’t feel like that was 100 percent his fault. A double-double as well for the big man.
-Pop was really rough tonight, started out 0-7 from the field. Same story for Toussaint, just not a great night from the starting guards.
-Toussaint continues to struggle, I really don’t know what it is man. Feels like he’s overdribbling into the paint way too much without a plan to get to the bucket.
-Tech did a nice job on their offensive end but it was once again a struggle on the defensive end on the boards.
-The offensive attack felt tentative for the most part and the Knights were able to shut down Walton in the second half.
-Tech escaped and got the win, get ready for the Jayhawks on Monday after a quick turnaround.
