Texas Tech took down Oklahoma State and improved to 2-0 in Big 12 play. Some thoughts…

-Tech responded really well to the early deficit. Got absolutely punched in the mouth and was able to rebound very quickly. McCasland’s adjustments in the first half were impressive.

-The ball movement on this team is a thing of beauty. Just love it, especially when it’s creating open three point looks that you knock down. Pop hit the big one off the Walton FT miss and McMillian hit a big one in the second half.

-Speaking of Pop, he’s on some heater. Four games with 20-plus. Remember when there was concern about his shot?

-Kerwin Walton got back into his groove tonight. Was nice to see him shoot it from deep and take it to the hole.

-Warren Washington had a really nice night as well. Was able to defend the post really well and chipped in on the offensive end.

-Tech’s defense has been super impressive in conference play. This unit is humming, to be quite frank. Tech forced long possessions and was able to force not excellent looks, especially early on. The biggest thing that stood out was their ability to do it without fouling, notably in the first half.

-Joe Toussaint also had a nice night, got to the line and chipped in double-digits. Can’t complain.

-This team is super glued. We know what they don’t do well but Grant has found a way to overcome those deficiencies thus far. Also helps when you shoot the lights out like you did tonight.
