I just read something new to me on that yesterday. I am a pilot. Only fly in the day and good weather at 76.
Flying in real cold weather risks icing on wings and prop.
Flying at night is hard, but it was a clear night.
They took off at 1 AM ? Pilot might even be tired. He was about 19 as I recall.
The reason for this post is something new. The article was unclear but it looks like a important instrument was different than the young pilot was used to , or put in upside down. The instrument tells you if you are climbing or going down.
They left at 1 Am in the morning? After playing I assume. Just all added up to trouble.
Lots of new info on Earhart recently. I read somewhere they forgot the trailing long range antenna and the pilot and navigator did not know Morris Code which is what Navy was using. Shame. She had crashed a few planes on take offs. hubcity
