Minnesota's Elijah Hawkins is starting an official visit to Texas Tech on Saturday, RedRaiderSports.com can confirm. This comes days after head coach Grant McCasland visited Hawkins earlier this week, a source told RedRaiderSports.

Hawkins carried a 7.5 assists per game rate in 2023-24 with Minnesota and was equally as efficient as a passer during his two seasons at Howard to start his collegiate career.

Hawkins would likely be Texas Tech's starting point guard if he lands in Lubbock, and we will keep you as updated as we can with his visit.

@B. Golan spoke with someone in Hawkins camp earlier in the week about his interest in Texas Tech, and that quote is below.

"Hey Ben, they're doing a great job at Texas Tech. Coaching staff is great and have a lot of good players returning. I will definitely keep you updated." - text I received 15 mins ago from a member of Hawkins' camp
