58. Utah 14 3.14 1,177
61. K-State 16 2.94 1,140

70. Baylor 14 2.86 960
94. UH 14 2.50 750

* UCF had a solid class with an overall 3.39. In Orlando and now in a P4, Mahlzahn is going to likely put together some quality classes in a fertile recruiting area.

* Kansas had a 3.24 star average and was pulled down by numbers with 17 recruits, but that is a really good class for KU and Leipold. One of their best in a long time.

* Most of Tech's contemporaries, from No. 56 Oklahoma State to No. 44 West Virginia, were where we likely would have finished pre-McGuire.

* At No. 61 and a 2.94 average, it's a typical recruiting class for K-State, one they will probably use to win another 9 games.

* Deion is playing a dangerous game depending on the portal every year. Does not seem sustainable. There are stories about CU's recruiting and how rarely he steps into a high school to see a recruit.

* Baylor is in real danger of slipping into a pre-Briles state that they may not can climb out of . At No. 70 with a small class is not good (or is absolutely great, depending on your point of view), especially after a 3-9 season. They have been slow to the NIL game.

* Houston is just abysmal. No excuse to be located where they are and have a No. 94 recruiting class. Dana mailed it in worse than Kliff in 2018. Not sure a 60-something Willie Fritz can move the needle. They likely will be your bottom feeder in the Big 12 for the foreseeable future.
