I don't like to eat food that gets me dirty or takes alot of work to eat it unless its just really astronomically good. (Ribs, hot wings, crawfish, etc.) A couple of exceptions are crab legs and oysters of course...
With the exception of beer, I don't like to drink my meal(soup). If I'm going to sit down and eat food, I want to eat it. Not slurp it. A couple of exceptions are menudo, a good thick tortilla soup, my mom's caldo, and posole.
I don't even consider a meal that has two different types of food mixed together. I think taco pizza and the pizza with the hot dog shoved in the crust are two of the greatest food crimes ever created and I will not support such shenanigans. I don't have any exceptions to this rule at this point but I would probably try the pizza hot wings just for the hell of it and because those things look delicious.
Crazy mixing and matching with condiments on foods or sandwiches is not something I'm a fan of with the exception of the fact that I won't eat a tamale without ketchup which pretty much squashes this rule but it's whatevs.
I also would rather get full off of my meal than save room for dessert. Not a chocolate fan with the exception of a good plain fudge brownie. Not one that has caramel and nuts and chocolate chips and shit on it. Just plain Jane.
Anyhoo, we had this conversation this morning after one of my meetings and thought I'd bring it up to see what crazy rules some of you have. I'll post more as I remember...
