- As Mike Leach says, “hands!”. Our WR corps probably has the best hands of any team we’ve ever fielded. It’s an underrated theme to our success this year. I can only remember maybe 3 dropped balls all year. Our WR catch more shit than a child coming out of lockdown.
- I feel like Kittley used the bye week to re-work our offense a bit. We saw formations and plays I don’t recall seeing to date. Like on the 2nd TD drive with Cupp/Tharp to the same side against zone coverage. Cupp runs off the OLB with an arrow route out of the H-back spot and Tharp runs 5 yards down the field between two zone defenders, turns around and makes an easy catch for a 1st down.
- I dare you to run a hitch screen at Muddy Waters and Malik Dunlap. That play is off the playbook at this point. I love what Yates has done with our DB play this year. We will get up in your grill and force you to defy the law of averages.
- Kosi Eldridge might not have made as big a leap as Dunlap, but he’s quietly playing great football.
- Timing has a lot to do with good offense and that’s where Morton has changed our offense the most. It’s made everyone look better, especially the OL.
- While not dominant, the OL made a huge step this week in sliding protections (to Stills in this case) and finding targets when pulling. We looked semi-athletic this week. Rogers did a lot better job shortening his stride and keeping his feet under him. We’ll find out this week if it was merely a facade.
