Trey Wolff

- Trey told us he hasn't congratulated himself for making clutch kicks against both Texas and Oklahoma in overtime. I asked if he patted himself on the back or anything for making history for Texas Tech but he said at the end of the day kickers have to make situational kicks.

- Trey was the first of the three to tell us the team, for the majority, was wanting and thinking the team would be traveling to Orlando for the Cheez-It Bowl. They love staying in Texas however because of the proximity to families and Red Raider fan bases throughout the state.

- Wolff, like a handful of other Red Raiders, have a decision to make when it comes to coming back to Lubbock or not. Wolff said he doesn't know if he'll be back but it's something he'll discuss with his family and let folks know in the coming days.

- I asked him about his relationship with Austin McNamara. He commended McNamara for his punting ability and being his holder for quite some time. However, he reminisced a bit because Wolff said he kinda eyed McNamara when he first arrived in Lubbock because he didn't know if he would try to compete for kicking duties as well. Obviously, that didn't happen so they were all good quick and early.

Adrian Frye

- Frye is excited for the full-circle moment that's coming because his first game was against Ole Miss in Houston inside NRG Stadium. Now, he'll finish it out there in front of family and friends. This will be Frye's fourth time playing at NRG. He thought initially about facing another Mississippi SEC school in a bowl game and wanting to go out and win it. He said all of the guys except the Florida guys like Jesiah Pierre were excited for possibly playing in Florida.

- Frye said Joey McGuire has shown they're relentless. He said they have the mentality of being the best team on the field no matter the opponent, time, arena, etc. He said he preaches going 1-0 against themselves and opponents. He said McGuire has shown nothing but love from day one. He appreciates him for giving 100% every day. It runs off to the team and makes them want to play for him.

- His memory from last year's bowl game was enjoying themselves at the bowl game. He said they let loose and relaxed until it was time to lock in. He expects them to have fun and lock in to win this one against the Rebels. He also expects a home-crowd environment in Houston.

Tony Bradford

- To start, THE North Shore product, as he calls his alma mater, didn't care where they went for a bowl game but said Houston is the best city out of all of them anyways.

- Bradford said Ole Miss is another challenge when it comes to stopping the run. They'll focus on that and getting to the QB. Said it was just like it was during conference play.

- He told us he has a decision made up on what he'll be doing next season. He's just waiting on the right time to announce his decision.

- He said Monday was the first time for the older guys to get back in pads and in practice. They'll get their bodies back to football shape but keeping fresh at the same time.

- The bowl game is special to them because they'll spend Christmas with the football program family. They'll focus on having fun and getting it done.

- He said he was looking at tickets online and saw a number were already being sold. He, like Frye, is expecting a crowd in favor of Tech that night.

- Bradford said the first day he met McGuire he knew they had no choice but to play for him because of his energy and attitude. He let them know he was committed to them and vice versa. I asked if he felt like this team was the first he's been on at Tech that just didn't fold when down, let's say 24-6.

"Absolutely, man. That's just a shoutout to our strength and conditioning staff for putting us in situations throughout the offseason that kinda forced us to, you know, you gotta keep fighting no matter what the situation is. We're going to keep doing it until the game is over."
