An illegal immigrant from Mexico stands accused of killing college student Mollie Tibbetts and dumping her body in an Iowa cornfield — after he allegedly accosted her during a July 18 jog and she threatened to call police. Cristhian Bathena Rivera, 24, was charged with first-degree murder.
CNN, CBS and NBC are avoiding saying that he is in the US illegally. (against the law and did not follow immigration laws to enter the USA for those who need clarification).
As I read several news sources, this murder may be the turning or polarizing point of this election cycle. He was working under someone else's identification. On top of that, he was working for a prominent Iowa Republican.

Part of the fall out is that if our border security was strong, If Cristhian Rivera was not in our country (which he should have not been), Mollie Tibbets would not have been murdered.
