Many are asking the question and few answers are forthcoming. It's a tightly guarded secret. Some have speculated Obama was going to make an immigration announcement but the WH has denied that's the reason. Last night on one of the talking head programs it was opined that Ginsberg was persuaded to resign from the Supreme Court and that Obama was going to use this opening to gin up support among democrats to turn out in November for the election. The thought was that a GOP controlled Senate would hamper Obama from nominating an ultra liberal justice and getting him/her confirmed. There was also speculation that, if this were the reason for Obama's return, he might nominate Eric Holder.
