1. Having my elementary school daughter come home crying because some white girl told her she couldn't play with her "because my mom said black people are dirty."
2. Dialing a wrong number and hearing the wife of the man who answered the phone ask "who is it" in the background and him respond "Just some ******."
3. Asking for an application at a Jack in the box as a teenager and being told "we don't have any" and having my white friend go in seconds later and be given an application.
4. Being pulled over, having a gun drawn on me and being asked why I have a white girl in the car with me.....thank you Van Zandt County
5. Having hundreds of people at Texas Tech assume I was there because of affirmative action at the expense of a more deserving white person.
6. Buying a Honda Pilot for my Mexican wife with a 760 credit score and having Honda tell me I only qualify for a 10% rate. Refused to finance with them and USAA did it for 2 percent. A month later Honda was hit with a federal lawsuit for systematically charging blacks and Hispanics higher interest rates than white people with the same qualifications. Had been going on for years.
7. Being followed around a Dillard's for 30 minutes by a rent a cop I could buy 20 times over.
8. Being told by three people from Idaho I shouldn't go fishing there because the Klan is strong there and I wouldn't be safe......and understanding I should heed the warning.
9. Having my former best friend, white guy, Tech graduate tell me he would disown his daughter if she married a black guy.
10. Having a well attended KKK rally in my hometown.
All of this is but a fraction of straight up racist stuff I have encountered, and continue to encounter. What does this have to do with you guys? It's the fact you dismiss ANYTHING that points to someone white being racist and tell me I'm racist for pointing out racism. Shit gets frustrating.
Do I want your sympathy? Hell no. I care for you guys and your opinions about as much as you care about me and my opinions. I don't care what you people think. I'm going to pull at least $400K this year, pay my house off 20 years early, go to Paris next week and completely fund my daughter's education I'm doing just fine.
The point of the post is to provide perspective. I have never let race or racism keep me from doing anything. I laugh when I read STUPID ASS PEOPLE on here telling me I'm a "victim." I'll be this victim all day long if it leads me to the life I have.
But that doesn't mean I'm not subjected to racism. Doesn't mean racism doesn't exist. The fact you people get so damn offended if ANYBODY, and are so dismissive, is called out for racism, is what's offensive and why I personally can't stand a ton of you.
So I'll sit back and get attacked by people who assume I'm talking about them. Go ahead and dismiss my 10 reasons (all stuff that's happened to me) and tell me why I'm a racist.
