Bought something really cheap I needed a few weeks back. Could not find it anywhere. Well it was wrapped and under the tree. She was so proud of herself. Of course I had already bought another one and used it when I needed it.
2 months ago she showed me something she thought I would love. I told her I will never use that. It came in and she showed it to me thinking I just did not understand. I told her I would still never use it. Guess what it was wrapped and under the tree today. She said I really think you will use it. I will not.
Being the good guy I am I said thanks. In a few days I will return every gift I got and go buy the right things.
Every year for the last 20 I think this might be the year I am surprised on Christmas and I am shocked each year in a bad way.
Kids open a present and if they like it they turn to me and say thanks dad and if not they say thanks mom. She has not figured out that they know exactly who things came from even though we say from mom and dad on everything.
My kids both told me what they tried to get for me and what she switched it to. Problem is at 16 and 19 they still don’t just go on their own to get me something they let her be involved.
