My thoughts only on this team and program. I am a devout Red Raider, alumni, donor, and fan. My first thought on this program is that we are headed in the right direction and we have the people from the top down making that happen. I believe in Kirby, Kliff, Gibbs, Mike Smith and the entire Red Raider football staff. The offense is prolific and one of the best in the nation. We do lack in some areas in the offense be we are good enough to go toe to toe with any team. Our defense is obviously a F*ing disaster. We can't stop the run or the pass and simply put right now we have to score more points than our opponents to win. The reason that we are this way is our recent history of switching coaches, schemes, thought processes, you name it we have changed it on defense. I think (cross my fingers when is say this) Gibbs with time will change this, and make our defense a manageable system. We don't need a defense like Alabama or LSU, nor will we ever get one due to the fact we can't recruit the defensive players that they can. We need a defense that is serviceable.
I was so pissed off after the game on Saturday, for many reasons. One getting beat by Baylor is gut wrenching, but they way we got beat is much worse. They could have hung a 100 points on us if they wanted to.
So I thought about it for a long time after the game and into Sunday. I thought, what can I do? What can anyone do? So the only way I know to help our team out is I donated to the Fearless Champions Facility Campaign, if we make a statement with these types of facilities then we recruit better, train better, and WIN!
