for the 2018 fb season? For the past 20 years, Tech fans have not needed to worry about offense....up until 2017. It was then that we saw there is no magic involved, but good talent and a great strategy. We did. It have the talent, and the strategy sometimes left me scratching my head. At least we knew our passing game would be nasty...until it wasn’t.
We can no longer expect to put up 50 to 60 on a given Saturday. Watching the spring, I have genuine concerns about our pass offense. Jett is not as accurate as he needs to be, and our other options don’t have what it takes, yet.
Receivers haven’t been a concern in a very long time. They are now a real concern. I thought Vasher would be unstoppable, but he stops himself way too often. We can’t just plug in our next ‘great to be’ receiver like in the past. Losing Two draft choice quality kids from 2017 will hurt.
We may be in better shape with our running backs than we have been in a few years, but they will only be as good as the O line let’s them be.
The O line is a year more experienced. But we only have one lineman who would start for OU, OSU, TCU and maybe UT. That group has been no more than fair over the past two to thee seasons, imo. We do have some redshirts who may prove to be quality. We can hope.
All in all, Tech’s offense looks like it will be inconsistent. Hopefully our experienced D will prove to be dominant enough to win some games. I’m looking at 6-6 to 7-5.
