- “He’s a kid that likes the big moments and the bright lights … It’ll be loud, it’ll be rocking and he’ll be ready to go.” – Morris on Mahomes
Recruiting Roundup
- The Texas Tech coaching staff has put a lot of emphasis on the defensive line class for its 2016 class. The Red Raiders have eight defensive linemen on the commit list, and the first to jump aboard was El Dorado (Kan.) Butler C.C. defensive tackleMychealon Thomas. Thomas is the lone junior college recruit on defense for the 2016 class, and the three-star lineman has a lot of ties to the Red Raiders.
Thomas was offered by David Gibbs and Co. when Gibbs was at Houston and Thomas was a senior defensive lineman at Skyline High School; he also played at Skyline with current Tech commitsDa'Leon Ward,Clarence Henderson, andJoseph Wallace. Thomas talks with Tech coaches Mike Smith, David Gibbs, Zac Spavital and Emmett Jones on a regular basis and has enjoyed what he has seen from the Tech defense so far this season. - See more at: https://texastech.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1815620&PT=4&PR=2#sthash.OwcYoqGH.dpuf
- Duncanville (TX) athleteTre Siggers, a 2017 graduate, still has time before he comes to a decision on where he will play his next few years of football at but the Red Raiders are already in the lead. Siggers recently made a trip to Lubbock for the TCU game, which he got "pumped up" at from just the fans and atmosphere alone. As far as his junior season, Siggers says he is having a breakout year, while continuing to improve on his vision as a running back and wide receiver. - See more at: https://texastech.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1811252&PT=4&PR=2#sthash.M98S2s6R.dpuf
