We have entered the twilight zone: It has been an odd year so far.

Looking at the teams that have been dominant the last few years and the one's that were supposed to be, no one looks unbeatable at this point. No one, not one team, has looked invulnerable in some way. Alabama is getting whipped by Ole Miss (yes, a very good team), Ohio State has looked very human on offense against inferior opponents. Oregon is still Oregon, but their defense is weak. USC looked like a monster the first two weeks and now they are getting beat by a Stanford team that lost to Northwestern. Michigan State has the most impressive win so far, but even they don't strike fear. Of all the teams out there, LSU looks the toughest, though it is kind of hard to gauge given they beat an Auburn team today that came within an eyelash of losing to an FBS school at home and looked horrid today. FSU and Clemson both look like they have significant issues on either offense or defense.
In our conference, TCU has looked like a machine against weak teams and vulnerable against average teams. Hard to gauge them. Baylor has looked like Baylor, but their defense, for all their star power, doesn't look remotely dominant. And I am not buying on Baker Maybe as the savior of OU at QB. The conference as well as the race for the National Championship, is as wide open as it has ever been in recent memory. I don't think this offense for Tech has played nearly as well as it can yet and with that and a bend but not break defense, I really like our chances to make some real noise this year. One thing is certain, THIS is a very different year.
