As we learned in week one, a team with experience and size on the OL can create problems for our DL. Although UTEP returns 4 of their 5 starters, led by their C Lee (Rimington Trophy Watch List) - both guards are true sophomores. With not one starter listed under 300 lbs (and not to be Capt. Obvious), the DL will once again have their work cut out for them. Big key difference is the QB position (whoever it is) does not pose the same running threat, however Aaron Jones is one of the better backs we will see this year.
LT Daniels - 6-3 305 JR
LG Hernandez - 6-3 330 SO
C Lee 6-1 305 SR
RG Elmendorff 6-3 310 SO
RT De La Rosa 606 315 JR
I'd like to see us put Levi over the center as a true nose and make Lee have to work harder, not allowing him to get to the second level. I haven't watched the game back yet to see how often we lined up in a zero technique but gap control and solid discipline to scheme will be the key to turning around what we saw last week.
