President Lincoln went though multiple generals, all with potential to win.....all failed! Then he settled on
Grand and Sherman who brought victory over the Rebel forces. After fall camp, the coaches made Tyler Shough
the starter, and it was not close.

When put into battle, the third QB on the depth chart changed the trajectory of the team. He was the same
QB as in fall camp, but not the same QB in battle. And as with Grant and Sherman, his "troops" have confidence
in him. He executes with his skill set and decisions.

Back to 1864.....Before the surrender of the Rebel forces, Generals Sherman and Grant had a few days to discuss final battle
plans. When they met they locked hands cordially. To Grant's assistant, "their encounter was more like that
of two school-boys coming together after a vacation." After Lincoln's assassination, Grant would remark,
"I have no doubt that Lincoln will be the conspicuous figure of the war. He was incontestably the greatest
man I ever knew."

We will not win every game, but we have a battle tested "general".....we can be pleased for that.
