Bill is two hours from landfall around Corpus Christi Tx. We could potentially be in serious trouble. The lakes (many in this category) that went up 15-25 feet and are still well into their flood pool have no capacity to hold runoff. This includes all lakes in and north of DFW as well as several along the "I 35 corridor". Bill is expected to move slowly North, and just West of I 35 while dropping 2 inch per hour rain rates. While we do have a couple of lakes that some how didn't get completely full (Travis for one), we are going to see historic flooding over large areas including Hill Country rivers, DFW lakes, Texoma and the Red River.
The first band of light rain is passing through right now. Rain rates will be increasing from here. The air is juiced, dew points are WAY HIGHER than normal, up to 72*. Ironic that many prayers have been spoken over the last couple of years for a TS or Hurricane to come up this exact route, as this is usually the only way we can get enough rain fast enough to fill lakes. Careful what you wish (and pray) for.
