After 30 calendar days or 22 discontinuous work days the federal government can furlough (RIF-reduction in force) numerous federal employees.
It's possible that by January 21, the Trump administration can tell those non-essential government workers their service is no longer needed.
There are numerous rules which have to be followed but it is possible to say bye-bye to a large number of government workers.
